The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed to State House correspondents on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja that President Bola Tinubu is planning a cabinet reshuffle.
Onanuga emphasized that, despite some skepticism, the current administration has made significant strides in transforming the economy—progress that many citizens may not be aware of. He also mentioned that Tinubu has instructed his ministers to actively communicate their achievements to the public.
“I can’t provide a specific timeline,” Onanuga stated. “The President is keen to reshuffle his cabinet, and it will happen. Whether it occurs before October 1 is uncertain, but it will definitely take place.”
Further explaining Tinubu’s rationale, Senior Special Assistant on Digital Strategy Engagement and Communications, O’tega Ogra, pointed to empirical evidence. He noted that during a retreat for ministers shortly after their August 2023 inauguration, Tinubu highlighted the importance of periodic performance reviews, which would inform his decisions moving forward.
